PIPIDAEYA
I am a harpist and interdisciplinary artist interested in works that explore the musicality of speech and everyday sounds in ways which engage audiences and allow for participation in musical play. I am interested in trying to create spaces where individuals can experience music-making in a social and exploratory way, allowing for new avenues of how they use their bodies and voices. I think its useful to have the opportunity to create something messy and imperfect, such as through an improvisational process. I believe this is particularly relevant to music, as many feel barriers to using their voices and bodies to express themselves musically, possibly due to social concerns or beliefs regarding lack of ability. I am seeking to create experiences that allow participants to step outside of their comfort zone in a safe and collaborative way.
